With four restaurants (two within the Resort and two nestled in the countryside of Val d’Orcia) and its own production of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wine and DOP extra virgin olive oil, Castello di Velona is the ideal destination to savor the very best of Italian food and wine culture.
We are the only Resort in Tuscany to offer a Dine Around program: by purchasing the Half Board or Full Board package, guests can enjoy each meal not only at the two Resort restaurants but also at two exclusive partner restaurants, one of which boasts a Michelin star. Dining is entirely à la carte (a supplement applies for starred restaurants).
Amid the scents of aromatic herbs and the vibrant colors of the Tuscan landscape, vineyards, and olive groves surrounding the Castle, our chefs carefully select zero-kilometre producers who uphold the highest standards of tradition and ingredient integrity. This culinary journey nourishes both body and soul, brought to life in our unique dining settings: the modernly designed Settimo Senso Restaurant, located in the wing overlooking the sunset and the Brunello vineyards, and the Dolce Vita by the Pool Restaurant, offering breathtaking views of the Val d’Orcia, the sunset, and the surrounding hill and vineyards.
The indoor and outdoor dining areas overlook the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia, thanks to the panoramic terraces of our two restaurants, facing west, where spectacular sunsets paint the horizon.
Here, guests embark on a complete sensory experience, immersed in the silence and romance of the landscape, savoring fine wines and extra virgin olive oil produced by the Castle’s estate, and indulging in the great specialties of traditional Tuscan and Mediterranean cuisine, where creative innovation meets respect for seasonality and authenticity.
Additionally, our Executive Chef, Andrea Fanti, is delighted to personalize the culinary experience upon request, reinterpreting classic Italian dishes and curating tailor-made menus in collaboration with guests to craft a bespoke gourmet journey.
The Brunello di Montalcino Castello di Velona, produced from the five hectares of vineyards belonging to the estate, is the crown jewel of our wine list. Guests can also enjoy a tasting in the internal cloister, the heart of Castello di Velona, where a crystal ceiling opens the space to the sky, creating an unforgettable atmosphere
